at the antiyal estate, everything functions as a fully-fledged ecosystem because biodiversity is used in the vineyards. there are meadows to feed the animals and the manure is used to make their own compost to keep the vineyard fertile. the grapes for the "kuyen" cuvée are organically grown using biodynamic methods and according to alvaro espinoza, the estate's oenologist, this gives the fruit a superior expression of the terroir. this wine, the result of a careful blend of four red grape varieties, underwent natural fermentation. it is then aged for 1 year in french oak barrels, and then rests for a further 6 months in the bottle before being released. the aromatic palette is very complex expressing notes of liquorice, prune, blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, sweet spices and mocha. the wine is dense and fleshy, with supple tannins and refreshing acidity making it juicy and delicious. a superb wine!
