"the cuvée la marguerite du domaine cosse maisonneuve is a micro plot of vines planted with a selection of centuries-old massale vines found in touraine. the vines are located on a terroir composed of clay rich in iron that bring to the wine precision and minerality. the first vintage of this cuvée was released in 2011 and it was already beautiful for a first. matthieu cosse and catherine maisonneuve have chosen to make this cuvée an exceptional wine for its quality. only 2000 bottles are produced per year for the world, that’s very little. philippe mischler, sommelier at mundovin: the marguerite du domaine cosse maisonneuve is a real work of art. a cahors 100% malbec that reveals a depth, complexity and above all a crazy elegance, which is very rare in this region where the trend is rather rusticity. it is a great wine to keep that you absolutely must not open for 2-3 years. the best would be to open it after 15 years of storage, at that time, it is a very great wine of cahors. on the nose the notes of liquorice, blackcurrant, blueberry are revealed with great finesse. the nose already opens very well in youth but we feel that this wine can offer a much wider and more complex aromatic palette. the mouth is tender, greedy, tannins still a little dry but well ripe. the fruit is juicy and develops notes of blackberries, black cherries, fig jam. a wine already well opened in the youth but that is far from showing all its abilities."
