the name of the leflaive estate will long be associated with its famous ambassador anne-claude who, with the energy of a pioneer, converted the estate to biodynamics between 1993 and 1997. the leflaive family has lived in puligny since 1717. but it took the genius of a maritime engineer, a polytechnician, to revive a domain devastated by phylloxera. after participating in the design of the first french submarine, joseph leflaive returned to his native village, replanted and made the wines of the estate known far beyond the french borders. the third generation, olivier and his cousin anne-claude, will consecrate the domain at the top of the burgundy hierarchy. tasting the wines of the domain is a unique experience for any wine lover. the particular attention paid to the vineyard and the wine making allows the wines, particularly rich, to reveal all the subtleties of the various burgundian soils. montrachet, bâtard, chevalier, bienvenues-bâtard and the first growths folatières or pucelles are wines with fundamentally different identities. rare vintages, to be tasted at least once in one's life as an amateur! this climat located in the commune of puligny owes its name to the former lord of the village who was nicknamed the "chevalier". in the opinion of many, the chevalier-montrachet of domaine leflaive is one of the best wines of the appellation, combining power and elegance. it offers a wine with an unequalled mineral power. it is a great white wine to be kept for at least 15 years.
