Located inland, close to the Andes mountains and at an altitude lower than Mendoza, Patagonia has an austere desert climate of hot days and cold nights that is particularly suitable for the production of elegant wines, including the Argentinean icon, Malbec and Pinot Noir.
It is considered one of the most favorable places in the country for the elaboration of wine. As a result, the best Argentine vineyards have developed various luxury projects in the region.
International grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon or Chardonnay have adapted well to Patagonia. Today, with global trends, Patagonia's cool climate is more of an advantage for the production of high-quality wines from this grape variety. The dominant grape varieties for white wines are : Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillón, Viognier, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris .
