In the very south of the Côte de Beaune, on the border of the Côte d'Or and the Saône-et-Loire, Santenay has long shared its ambitions between wine and thermal waters. Today, the village devotes itself fully to Bacchus, forgetting that it was once called Santenay-les-Bains. Only the chance of the departmental boundaries, set during the Revolution, separated Santenay from the Maranges.
