As one of the numerous appellations of Languedoc Roussillon, representing three quarters of the production of local wine appellations (IGP since 2009), the IGP wine of the Côtes de Thau is produced in the Hérault department.
We find a strong palette of textures and mineral aromas in the reds. The reds must be blended with the region's grape varieties (cinsault, carignan, syrah, grenache), assisted by the Bordeaux grape varieties known as "améliorateurs" (cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, and merlot). Pinot noir is also added, allowing for robust wines, more intense than those from Burgundy.
